Join us on Sunday, February 3rd at 1pm at Gaia's Gardens for our Imbolc gathering. This holy day, also called Candlemass is the midwinter celebration. It is from the times when farmers would need a good celebration to show that they are half way through winter and the ground is beginning to get fertile once again. The grape vines are cut back, the early seeds are planted, and the farmers celebrate the end of the most harsh parts of winter. The ceremony gives thanks to the spirits or gods that the harsh times are ending and the times of plenty are approaching. In Catholic religions, this is the time when candles are blessed for use during the coming year.
Leading: Rev. Su Windsong
Additional Info: Imbolc is the time of mother's milk and newborn animals, so I want everyone to bring to circle something, or a symbol of something, they have "birthed" from their imagination. (Children are always welcome in my circles, but we want to celebrate creative birthing, not REAL birthing! LOL)
Very important -- There will be milk and cookies served for cakes and ale, so please contact me directly with food allergies! (RevSuWindsong at aol dot com) I'm not wealthy, but I'll try to accommodate you. :-)
What to bring: Festive, magical, or medieval/Renaissance garb is welcome, but not required. There will be a heartbeat drumming, so any style drum is welcome as well.
Since we will be doing a trance-meditation, a mat or blanket is advisable if you do not want to sit in a chair. Dress for the weather of the day.
