Jennifer Hudson as Effie Whit in Dreamgirls

Sometimes you are sad and mad and tired and frustrated and then -- then you hear someone sing or see someone paint and it changes things…. It reminds you of creation, and you laugh and you cry because you remember in your bones that there is a point.

So, anyway, I just watched the second half of Dreamgirls. When Effie White (Jennifer Hudson) was singing “I Am Changing” in her last chance audition for a comeback, it affected me. I had not watched most of the movie that lead up to it, but it had been a really trying day, so by the time she finished, I was wrecked.

And then -- THEN, she sang "Let it Be" on the Hope for Haiti telethon. I'm getting all faklempt just remembering it, and I don't even know what faklempt means. I can't wait to see what she will do next.

No doubt a profound experience but the first thing a guest will see when they visit our site? Should'nt this be further down the page or in a discusion group?

Should this article be at the top of the front page? Maybe. Probably. Actually, I think that's a good question. I have two reasons for posting the article: 1) I specifically want to "lower the bar" for articles. Every article does not have to be some super profound theological treatise, a personal manifesto, or a recipe for "Goddess" cakes. 2) We are a community of spiritually oriented individuals. Since this experience affirmed my basic belief system, my understanding of our purpose on Earth, I thought it was profound enough to post.

I am hoping others will follow the lead and write about their own thoughts and experiences. Actually, one really easy way to move this article down the page is to write a new one! smilies/wink.gif
