You do not have to join to participate as all worship services are open to the respectful public.
With that said, joining the Church is a very simple process, and does have some benefits. By doing so, you are stating that you have read, understood and will follow the precepts and tenets of the CHURCH OF THE EARTH OF NC. There are three different types of memberships, each with it own rights and responsibilities.
Website Members
By joining as a website member you gain full access to participate in this website. This includes:
- Full access to read and post in the forum.
- Submit your own essays, stories, rituals and articles for publishing on the site.
- Add your own events to the site calendar.
- Leave comments and participate in online discussions of site articles.
- Join the babble box for live chats.
All you need to join as a website member is a valid email address. Here is the process:
- Read and understand The Precepts and Tenets of the Church .
- Go to the New User page and fill in the the small form. It asks for two things, a user name and your email address. Your user name will become your public name on the web site. Please note that your email address will never be publicly displayed on this site. Once you have filled in these values just click the "Register Now!" button.
- Typically within a few hours you will receive an email with your confirmation link in it. Just follow that link to activate your account. We recommend you first go to the Account Information page to update your profile and maybe upload a picture or two.
Now you are a website member.
Full Members
By becoming a full member of the church, you may:
- Receive the printed newsletter in the mail.
- Vote on church matters.
- Preside over church functions.
- Serve as a church board member.
To join as a full member, please provide your real name and address to a board member at one of our functions. We have to get this information to follow federal guidelines as a church. If you cannot provide this information, you will not be able to join as a full member. You are still welcome to join the website and the email list as described above, and all worship services are open to the respectful public.
